What ISP's block SMTP port 25? Print

  • 1

Many ISP's are blocking smtp (Port 25) which is the port used to send e-mail. They have chosen to do this in order to cut down on the amount of "SPAM" mail that is sent. We are seeing more and more ISP's doing this. You can check with your internet provider to see if they are blocking this port.

Keep in mind you can always use your account on the webmail interface to send and receieve email.

The address for this webmail service is:

http://mail.yourdomain.com

At this time, these are ISP's known to block smtp (Port 25). This is not a complete list and is only the ones we have confirmed.

• AOL
• AT&T
• Bell Canada
• Bell South
• Bresnan
• Cox
• Earthlink
• Flashnet
• Mindspring
• MSN
• MediaOne
• NetZero
• OptOnline
• Verizon

Note: If your ISP blocks outgoing SMTP connections, our servers allow connections on an alternate port. You can try setting your smtp settings in your email software to use port 30 instead of 25.
