Changing the Outgoing Server (SMTP) Port Print

  • 2

Many ISPs block SMTP (Port 25) to prevent their users from sending email via 3rd party servers such as the one included with your domain. To get around this we have made another port available for outgoing connections (Port 30).

Depending on your email software, these instructions may vary and you may need to check your software documentation.

To change the port in Outlook 2003:

  1. Click "Tools" from the menu and then "Email Accounts".
  2. Select "View or change existing email accounts" and then click next
  3. Select the account you are having problems with from the list and click "Change"
  4. Click "More Settings".
  5. Select the "Advanced" tab.
  6. Change the "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" Field, change the 25 to 30 and click ok.
  7. Click next and then finish.

You should be able to send email now.
