Outlook Express:

1. Click "Tools" | "Accounts", then click the "Mail" tab, then double click your mail account.
2. Click the "Servers" tab, then under "Outgoing Mail Server", check "My Server Requires Authentication".

Outlook 2000/2002/2003:

1. Click "Tools" | "Email Accounts"
2. Click "View or Change Existing Email Accounts"
3. Double click your "Account"
4. Click "More Settings"
5. Click "Outgoing Server Tab"
6. Check the box for "My Server Requires Authentication".

Netscape:

There are no additional settings to enable SMTP Authentication in Netscape Messenger
Mac Users:

For SMTP Authentication, make sure that your Mac users have Outlook Express 5.02

1. Open your email account settings
2. Go to the "Servers" tab.
3. Click the button labeled "Click Here for Advance Sending Options"

4. Click the "SMTP server Requires Authentication" check box.
    Note: By default, the box "Use Same Settings as Incoming Mail Server" is checked
5. Check "Log on Using" instead of "Use Same Settings as Incoming Mail Server".
6. Type your Account as you email address In the "Account ID" box
    Note: Use the '&' symbol instead of the '@' symbol.

Eudora:

We recomend upgrading upgrade to the latest verison of Eudora which is 5.x

1. Open Eudora.
    Note: The Options window will display. If not, click "Tools" on the menu bar then "Options".

2. Scroll to the top of the list and select "Getting Started".

3. Complete the following fields: 
  1. "Real Name" - The name from which any e-mail sent using this profile will display.
  2. "Return Address" - The address from which any e-mail sent will display
     
    For example: bob@YourDomainName.com
  3. "Mail Server (Incoming)" - The mail server your incoming e-mail will go through.
  4. "Login Name" - Your user name (i.e., if your user name is bob@yourdomain.com, then login name is "bob").
  5. "SMTP Server (Outgoing)" - The mail server your outgoing e-mail will be sent through.
     Note:  You may use your ISP's outgoing mail server, or your email server, which will be (mail.YourDomainName.com).
  6. "Allow Authentication" - Check this box if you want to be prompted for a password when you check your mail.
  7. Click "OK".
